`getconf DARWIN_USER_DIR` returns the `.../0/` subfolder, so appending T, C or X to it gives nonexistent paths and zsh reports `no matches found`. The real siblings are one level up: /private/var/folders/<xx>/<id>/{0,C,T,X}. Dotfile globs such as `$B/X/.[a-zA-Z]*` also abort with the same error when nothing matches, and redirecting stderr hides the failure. Use `find $B -mindepth 1 -maxdepth 1 -exec du -sk {} +` to enumerate these directories reliably.
