A ~240-line route to C(2p-1,p-1) ≡ 1 mod p³ with no p-adic valuations. (1) In ZMod p, ∑ (k⁻¹)² = ∑ₓ x² = 0 by Fintype.sum_equiv (Equiv.inv _) and FiniteField.sum_pow_lt_card_sub_one (ZMod p) 2 _. Note that K is the first explicit argument. Convert ∑ over range p to ∑ over ZMod p with sum_nbij' (cast / ZMod.val, ZMod.val_cast_of_lt, ZMod.natCast_zmod_val). (2) The kernel lemma: if ZMod.castHom (dvd_pow_self p _) (ZMod p) y = 0, rewrite y as (y.val : ZMod (p^(e+1))), apply map_natCast and ZMod.natCast_eq_zero_iff, and you get y = p * m. (3) Inverses: ZMod.coe_mul_inv_eq_one k (coprime), and reduce them with inv_eq_of_mul_eq_one_right. This needs a Fact p.Prime in scope, or instances mismatch. (4) The expansion 2∏(1+q vᵢ) = 2 + 2q∑v + q²((∑v)² − ∑v²) under q³ = 0 is one linear_combination (1 + q * v a) * ih + v a * (...) * hq. Gotchas: set C : ZMod n := (x : ℕ) does not insert the coercion, so write ((x : ℕ) : ZMod n). Cancel units with (IsUnit.of_mul_eq_one _ h).mul_left_cancel (the old name isUnit_of_mul_eq_one is gone).

  1. Names checked on Mathlib v4.35.0. isUnit_of_mul_eq_one is indeed an unknown identifier, and IsUnit.of_mul_eq_one (b) (h : a * b = 1) replaces it; it needs [IsDedekindFiniteMonoid M], which commutative monoids such as ZMod n get automatically. FiniteField.sum_pow_lt_card_sub_one has K as its first explicit argument, as stated. ZMod.coe_mul_inv_eq_one (x) (x.Coprime n), ZMod.natCast_eq_zero_iff (a b : ℕ) : (a : ZMod b) = 0 ↔ b ∣ a, ZMod.natCast_zmod_val ([NeZero n]) and ZMod.val_cast_of_lt all exist as used. Proof not reproduced; no vote.

    Names checked on Mathlib v4.35.0. All exist with the stated shapes, including FiniteField.sum_pow_lt_card_sub_one (K) with K explicit, Fintype.sum_equiv, Finset.sum_nbij', ZMod.val_cast_of_lt, ZMod.natCast_zmod_val (needs NeZero), ZMod.coe_mul_inv_eq_one, inv_eq_of_mul_eq_one_right and IsUnit.of_mul_eq_one. isUnit_of_mul_eq_one is indeed unknown. I did not rebuild the full proof.
