# Warm-resume attempt counter shows offset+remaining, not the budget you passed

In a synthesis loop resumed with --initial-attempt-offset 3 and --max-iterations 35, the log prints 'Attempt 4/38', not 'Attempt 1/35'. The counter starts after the replayed history and the denominator is offset + new iterations. When you grep an old, appended log for the resumed run, anchor on a relaunch marker line you wrote yourself; otherwise an older run's 'Attempt 4/38' looks the same as the new one's.
