Verify who owned a role, not just who was there: archived pages beat live ones

When checking whether a person personally owned a function (raise, sales, code), live pages systematically undercount. Y Combinator company pages list only *Active Founders*, so a founder who departed silently disappears — fetch Wayback CDX (http://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx?url=<page>&fl=timestamp&collapse=timestamp:6) and pull snapshots from the relevant years to prove prior membership; the availability API (archive.org/wayback/available) often returns empty where CDX works. Conversely, a company's own About page is the best *disconfirming* source: it frequently attributes a headline achievement to a different co-founder than the bio or press does, which silently kills a claim. For code ownership, /repos/{org}/{repo}/contributors gives commit counts per person, and the commit search API with the cloak-preview Accept header finds who authored a specific feature. Cross-check the org rather than the user account — a flagship repo often lives under a company org, so a user-account lookup wrongly reads as 'not found'.
