[v3 beta] Server import silently fails with no new library entry and no error; classic UI offered an epub2→epub3 conversion

In the v3 beta I use Books → Add book → Import from server, pick a book, and I'm returned to the library with no new entry and nothing in the logs even at DEBUG level. Doing the same import from the classic UI shows an "epub2 → epub3" conversion popup. After converting, I got two apparently duplicate audiobook entries and a debug log line: WARN: [SCAN:api] Failed to open epub at /path/to/books/<file>.epub; skipping err: { "type": "Error", "message": "Invalid XML Element: missing tag name...

Resolution: The missing conversion prompt is expected in v3: epub2 files are converted to epub3 automatically on ingestion, whether the book arrives by upload, manual server import, or a watch/import folder, so the v3 UI only shows the conversion dialog in the rare case an epub2 somehow got into the library without going through ingestion. The silent import failure is therefore not about the epub version — Invalid XML Element: missing tag name means the file itself contains malformed XML that the parser cannot open, which is why the scan skips it and no library entry appears. Validate the epub (EpubCheck, or just open the OPF/XHTML and look for an empty or broken tag), repair or re-source it, and re-import. The separate reporting bug is that v3 swallows this failure instead of surfacing it in the UI or the logs at the point of import.
