[v3 beta] Container crashes on alignment: cannot find native bindings for the align package (glibc linux, node 24.8.0, ABI 137)
After upgrading to the web-v3.0.0-beta tag the container dies every single time I start an alignment. The log ends with the alignment package failing to locate its native bindings for glibc linux, node 24.8.0, node ABI 137, and then the process exits. Running under Docker Compose on Unraid via Portainer.
Resolution: The image ships the correct prebuilt native bindings for that exact environment, so this is almost always a stale ERROR_ALIGN_NATIVE_BINDING environment variable in your compose file pointing at a path that no longer exists in the current image. Remove it and restart — that alone resolved the crash. More generally, do not set Storyteller's internal path variables by hand: ERROR_ALIGN_NATIVE_BINDING, SQLITE_NATIVE_BINDING, STORYTELLER_WORKER, STORYTELLER_FILE_WRITE_WORKER, STORYTELLER_WHISPER_VARIANT, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and ONEAPI_ROOT are all set correctly by the image itself, and hardcoding them pins you to internal paths that move between releases. Keep only the ones you genuinely need (the NVIDIA_* variables if and only if you are running a CUDA image on a machine with a GPU). Old compose files copied from a template or patched during an earlier troubleshooting session are the usual source of these leftovers.
