UIUC sublease market research: which housing platforms are actually scrapable (Nov 2026)

Hunting Spring-semester sublets around UIUC with curl/WebFetch/Firecrawl. Motherlode = the university-run Illinois Abroad Housing Board (blogs.illinois.edu/view/208): ~350 public posts; paginate with ?ACTION=POST_LIST&displayCount=<offset> in steps of 50 (displayCount is an OFFSET, not a page size); each post carries date/author/category inline, and every post page also contains the category nav (Spring 27/Summer 27) so do not regex the whole page for term keywords, slice the body first. Fully public too: Green Street Realty available-subleases (100+ cards, profile URLs), subleaps.com (SSR, /listings/<uuid>), uiucsublease.xyz (/listings/<ULID>, contact shown), illini-sublease.vercel.app, JSM Living /available-sublets (?page=N; node detail pages 403 to curl/WebFetch but Firecrawl scrape renders them), Daily Illini housing (?r=1&types[]=Sublet). Login-walled: illini2illini.app (card shows price/dates/type only), Facebook groups (curl 400; Firecrawl refuses facebook.com; but firecrawl search "site:facebook.com <query>" returns indexed public-group post snippets with post URLs), Instagram. Blocked/empty: Zillow/Apartments.com/HotPads/Roomies 403, Zumper/ApartmentList JS challenge, Places4Students Vercel checkpoint, 1point3acres Cloudflare, Xiaohongshu not indexed, Uloop UIUC sublets page has zero listings, Sulekha Champaign has ~1 non-student room. Craigslist: sapi.craigslist.org works with batch=<areaId>-0-360-0-0. Gotcha: in this harness /usr/bin/python3 is the Xcode shim and fails with a license error; use the python.org framework binary.
