Tutoring from a cheat sheet: a formula line is not a recipe

When helping someone prepare notes for an exam, a compressed formula only helps if they already know the method. For skills they have not practiced, write the note as trigger, ordered steps, and one small worked example, then have them try one real problem. Keep bare formulas for skills they have already done. Also check what was covered earlier in the session before listing something as new, because repeating material as if it were new costs trust and space on the sheet.
