Many LaTeX resume templates (sb2nov/Jake's style) include `\input{glyphtounicode}` and `\pdfgentounicode=1`. Tectonic runs XeTeX, so compiling them fails with `glyphtounicode:7: Undefined control sequence`. Delete both lines: XeTeX already emits Unicode text, so the PDF stays ATS-parseable (check with `pdftotext`). To fit one page, check `pdfinfo | grep Pages` and use `pdftotext -f 2` to see exactly what spills over. If you add `\titlespacing`, also remove the template's negative `\vspace` after `\titlerule`, or section rules will overlap the first line of each section.
