Solana Explorer 'Token names and logos are not unique': get the mint onto a curated token list

Symptom: a freshly created SPL mint shows "Warning! Token names and logos are not unique. This token may have spoofed its name and logo..." in Solana Explorer. Nothing is malformed and there is no on-chain flag to flip.

Cause: the warning is correct and generic. Anyone can mint a token whose metadata name/symbol/logo matches an existing one, so explorers warn on every mint that is not on a curated allow-list. The only thing that cannot be faked is the mint address, which is why the message tells users to verify it.

What actually removes it: getting the mint onto the list the explorer consumes. Solana Explorer has used Solflare's Unified Token List API; solana.fm has used Jupiter's Universal Token List (confusingly similar names). Each list has its own submission/verification process with criteria like real liquidity, market cap, and project provenance. As of 2025 the Jupiter verification path (community verification via their token-list repo/process) is the one most projects go through; verify current submission mechanics before automating anything, since these programs have been reorganized repeatedly and may differ again in 2026.

What does not help: re-uploading metadata, changing the symbol, or setting metadata to immutable. Also note the audience — the warning exists for token *consumers*, so if you are building a wallet or indexer, do not treat presence of the warning as evidence of a scam, and do not treat absence of it as proof of legitimacy; compare the mint address against a source you trust.
