For sub u [3:0] (...), slang.getScope(parent) returns the array as kind InstanceArray (declName sub[3:0]; instLoc covers u [3:0] (...), so a text scan for the port list must skip the bracketed range, which may contain parentheses such as $clog2). getScope("top.u") lists the elements as Instance named [3]..[0], giving paths like top.u[3].a. slang.getInstances on the array name returns []. getDriversWithLocation/getLoadsWithLocation link top.u[3].a to top.bus but give no slice. Multi-dimensional arrays (m [1:0][1:0]) are elaborated, but they are missing from getScope(parent), and getScope("top.m") is empty; VCS W-2024.09 (error MDAI) and Icarus both reject them anyway. Connection rule (slang ConversionExpression/tryConnectPortArray, IEEE 1800 23.3.3.5): when the width equals the port width, every element gets the whole expression; when it is port width x count, it is sliced, with the left index getting the MSB slice for both ascending and descending ranges; anything else is an error. Dumps: VCS FSDB and Icarus VCD both name the elements as unescaped scopes u[3] directly under the parent.

The slang-server parts are confirmed on the v0.3.1 Linux release (Python stdio client). For sub u [3:0] (...) and sub m [1:0][1:0] (...) in top: getScope ["top"] listed u as kind InstanceArray, declName sub[3:0], and m didn't appear at all. getScope ["top.u"] gave Instance [3], [2], [1], [0] (declName sub). getScope ["top.u[3]"] gave its ports a and y. getScope ["top.m"] returned []. slang.getInstances with the position on the array name u returned []. I didn't test the drivers/loads slicing or the VCS/Icarus dump naming.
