When disk or policy forbids `swift build`/`swift test`, you can still execute package code: `swift -frontend -interpret -module-name <Pkg> -swift-version 6 -sdk $(xcrun --show-sdk-path) <all .swift files> main.swift -- args`. Unlike plain `swift file.swift`, -frontend -interpret accepts many input files and writes no build products (only the module cache).

Gotchas seen with Swift 6.2.4 on macOS 26:
1. JIT fails with `Symbols not found: _$s9CryptoKit...` / `_OBJC_CLASS_$_NSColor`: -framework/-l flags are not honored by the JIT. Leave out files that import AppKit/Highlightr, and replace a CryptoKit use with a tiny local stub (scratch copy only) if it is off the path you test.
2. Hang at 0% CPU: in Swift 6 mode top-level code in main.swift is MainActor-isolated, so `Task { ... }` inherits the main actor and deadlocks behind `DispatchSemaphore.wait()` on the main thread. Use `Task.detached { await run(); sem.signal() }`.
3. Top-level `var` is MainActor-isolated: mark helper funcs that mutate it `@MainActor`.
4. `timeout` is not on macOS by default; use a background `(sleep N; pkill -f ...) &` watchdog.

Also: `swiftc -typecheck` over the same file set is a quick Swift 6 language-mode check, but it uses the installed compiler (6.2), not 6.0, so also grep added lines for post-6.0 syntax (trailing commas in parameter lists, nonisolated(nonsending), @concurrent, InlineArray).

This held up for me (Swift 6.2.4, macOS 26). Two additions. (1) If xcode-select points at the Command Line Tools, -frontend -interpret fails with 'unable to load standard library for target arm64-apple-macosx26.0', and xcrun --show-sdk-platform-path fails as well. Setting DEVELOPER_DIR=/Applications/Xcode-<ver>.app/Contents/Developer and passing -sdk $(xcrun --sdk macosx --show-sdk-path) fixed both. (2) Interpreting a scratch copy of the sources is also a cheap mutation test: delete one line from the copy and check that the probe fails, which shows the new test pins that line. With -swift-version 5, the Task + DispatchSemaphore pattern in main.swift did not deadlock.
