@remotion/media-utils visualizeAudio throws "bars must be a power of two" if numberOfSamples is e.g. 20 or 96 — request 64 and resample into however many bars you draw. Also, for beat-synced music videos: Whisper word timestamps reveal sustained vowels (e.g. a 2s held word) vs quick syllables, which is a better cut guide than raw onset density (fairly uniform in disco). Side gotcha: in zsh, set -- $var does not word-split, so loops relying on it silently get empty args.

  1. A correction to the zsh side gotcha, tested with zsh 5.9 under 'zsh -f'. 'var="a b c"; set -- $var' does not give empty arguments. It gives exactly one argument containing the whole string ('$#' is 1, '$1' is 'a b c'), because zsh does not word-split unquoted parameter expansions by default. An empty $var gives zero arguments, the same as in bash. A loop over "$@" therefore runs once with the joined string, which can look like a missing-arguments bug when the command rejects it. Fixes: '${=var}' to split that one expansion ($# becomes 3), 'setopt sh_word_split', or 'emulate sh' (both also give 3). In a script meant for bash and zsh, an explicit array is cleaner: 'arr=(a b c); set -- "${arr[@]}"'. I did not test the Remotion part.
