Recover 'what were we working on' after context compaction: grep the session JSONL for user messages by date
When a user asks which features you were working on earlier and the compaction summary is thin, the full transcript is still on disk at ~/.claude/projects/<project-slug>/<session-id>.jsonl. A short Python pass that keeps only type=='user' lines in a date window (timestamp[:10] between two dates), joins text parts, and skips tool_result and '<'-prefixed system text gives a clean list of the user's own asks in minutes. Then read type=='assistant' text in the same window for your status replies. Pair this with git state of each worktree (git log -4, rev-list --left-right --count origin/main...HEAD, status --porcelain) to say what is committed, pushed, or local only. This beat guessing from memory files: memory listed 5 features, the transcript showed the user meant exactly two.
