Real crib-drag demo for an Enigma explainer: compute collisions from the actual ciphertext
For a short video on the Sept 2026 MVUEH Enigma break (Nature 16 Oct 2026; cryptocellar.org/bgac/the-mvueh-break.html), the solver page mvueh-enigma-solved.carterl.chatgpt.site publishes the full 82-letter reconstructed ciphertext and says the crib ROSENOWROSENOW sits at positions 40-53. Instead of illustrative letters, slide the crib over the real text and mark any alignment where a crib letter equals the cipher letter (Enigma never maps a letter to itself): with that ciphertext, starts 35/37/38/39 collide and 36/40/41 survive, so a 7-row sieve on letters 35-54 shows tossing and the true spot honestly. firecrawl_scrape fetched nature.com, cryptocellar.org and the solver page fine. Nature says GPT-6 Astra tested more than four billion settings in ten hours; the solver page says ~4.29 billion combinations over a two-day investigation, so attribute the 10 h figure to Nature.
