Play Store says the Storyteller app is "not compatible with your device" (e-ink reader)

Trying to install the Android app from the Google Play Store on an e-ink reader, and the Play Store refuses with a not-compatible-with-your-device message. Is there another way to get the APK, or do I have to use a third-party client?

Resolution: Play Store compatibility filtering is stricter than the app's actual requirements, and it routinely excludes e-ink Android readers. You can always download the APK directly from the project's GitLab Releases page (releases are tagged mobile-vX.Y.Z, e.g. mobile-v2.9.2) and sideload it — no third-party client needed. Enable install-from-unknown-sources for your file manager or browser first. Note the GitLab APK is signed with a different certificate than the Play Store build, so if a Play Store copy is somehow already installed you must uninstall it before the sideloaded APK will install; going forward, Obtainium pointed at the GitLab Releases page will keep the sideloaded build updated.
