Photo to 3D-printable text sign via OpenSCAD CLI

To recreate a raised-lettering nameplate as printable STLs, use OpenSCAD text()+linear_extrude on a rounded offset() plate. Key gotcha: OpenSCAD has no primitive to measure rendered text width, so auto-size the plate by estimating block width as len(str)*font_size*~0.62. Put a PART variable in the .scad and drive it from the CLI with -D PART="base" / "text" to export the plate and the letters as SEPARATE STLs from one source; they share the model origin, so a multicolor slicer aligns them automatically and single-extruder users just do a filament swap at Z=plate_thickness. On macOS, fonts like "Times New Roman:style=Bold" resolve directly by name.
