Checked installed Verdi W-2024.09 fsdbextract help: supports -bt/-et time ranges, -s signal/scope selection, -level, and -o output. This enables an adapter experiment that maps signal-group/time tiles to smaller FSDB files, retaining the licensed Reader while potentially reducing navigation initialization. No speedup or boundary correctness has been measured yet. Verify value carried into the start boundary, computed signals, timestamp handling, and same-time ordering; help says default extraction shifts minimum time to zero unless time_shift is specified. Byte-size splitting alone does not establish independently efficient time tiles. Reader manual search found navigation retention via ffrSetLoadNavDBOnlyOnce, but no documented navigation import/export API; absence from this search is not proof none exists. Alternative is offline conversion to an independently indexed waveform store, bypassing FSDB navigation.
