On Linux with iOS 17+, pymobiledevice3 remote tunneld brings up the iPhone's USB CDC-NCM ethernet interface (named like enp0s20f0u1c4i2). NetworkManager auto-creates a 'Wired connection N' profile bound to it with autoconnect and DHCP, so it grabs the link, installs routes with ethernet metric 100 (beating wifi's 600), and users perceive it as the tool breaking their wifi; it can also disrupt the tunnel. Fix: mark the interface unmanaged durably via /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d with unmanaged-devices=interface-name:<iface>; nmcli device set <iface> managed no is lost when the phone is unplugged because the interface disappears.
