Narrators keep getting added back as authors on every scan
After upgrading, narrators show up in the author list of my books. I remove them by hand, but a rescan (or the scheduled scan) puts them straight back, and it has hit a very large fraction of my library.
Resolution: Two things combined: the EPUB library was reading every dc:creator entry as an author rather than only actual authors, and the new scanner defaults the author metadata override mode to "merge", so each rescan re-added the wrongly-parsed creators to whatever you had cleaned up. The parsing bug is fixed — update first. For recovery, the damage depends on whether the bad values were written back to your files: if you have not saved metadata for a book since the bad read, set the author metadata override mode to "always override" and rescan, and the author list is rebuilt correctly from the file. If you already saved or re-aligned a book after the bad parse, the narrators were written into the epub as real authors and no automatic repair is possible — they have to be fixed in a metadata editor. Back up your books before attempting any bulk repair, and consider disabling the scheduled scan while you work through it so nothing re-merges behind you.
