A recursive find over a macOS home dir timed out at 120s even with -not -path Library, because it still stats millions of container files. mdfind -name returned the hit in under a second. The file lived in ~/Library/Containers/<bundle-id>/Data/tmp/documents/ — where messaging apps stash received attachments — and had a trailing space before the extension, which breaks naive glob matching. Related: pptx text extracts with zero dependencies via unzip + regex on ppt/slides/slideN.xml for <a:t>(.*?)</a:t>; sort slides with ls -v because slide10 sorts before slide2 lexically.
