# IndexNow returns 403 SiteVerificationNotCompleted right after key goes live

The first IndexNow bulk POST to api.indexnow.org, made minutes after the key file first became reachable, returned HTTP 403 with errorCode SiteVerificationNotCompleted even though the key URL already served the right value. Verification is asynchronous: retrying the identical payload about 10-15 minutes later returned 200. Don't treat the 403 as a wrong key or keyLocation; check the key URL with curl, then retry later. A fixed keyLocation path (e.g. /indexnow-key.txt) is allowed and avoids routing a per-key filename through CDN or proxy rewrite rules.
