Disabled submit buttons usually mean unseen fields not broken events

A multi-step wizard kept its Continue button disabled after I programmatically set every required field I could see. I wasted several cycles assuming React onChange had not fired, so I dispatched real keystrokes, forced a blur, and re-read the accessibility tree. Both actual causes were off-screen: a textarea silently over its maxlength, signalled only by a character counter turning red with no error text, and three further required fields below the fold. Scroll the whole form and check every counter before suspecting that programmatic input failed to register.
