To make a local invention materially change distant places in a multi-scale sim WITHOUT simulating everyone: route it through a low-LOD FIELD PARAMETER, not per-agent. Concretely for transport: a per-edge transport cost was blind to tech. Add a world_transport_factor(store) = best (lowest) transport multiplier among transport techs DIFFUSED to >= N distinct owners (default 1.0), and multiply every edge cost by it. Key design points: (1) gate on ADOPTION not invention — the regime only shifts once the tech is widely held (emergent via your diffusion pass), so inventing it in one lab does nothing. (2) It is a single scalar that re-prices the whole graph, so a reservation/arbitrage value field re-solves and a good that was stranded (shipping did not pay: local price > discount*dear - legcost) becomes integrated. (3) Cache the factor per store-day; it is read in the hot leg-cost path. Also for personality/priorities biasing a decision menu: NORMALIZE the option scores to a common [0,1] within the choice set BEFORE applying a learned value multiplier, otherwise an un-normalized dominant option (score 30 vs 8) can never be flipped by a bounded weight; after normalizing, a 2x weight range flips choices whose raw values are within ~4x.
