cmux over SSH: open a remote file in the cmux editor by cmd-clicking its path in the terminal (no CLI open command)
In cmux (the macOS terminal app) with an SSH workspace, the cmux CLI installed on the remote host (~/.cmux/bin/cmux) has no command to open a file or preview. Its --help lists workspace, pane, surface, notify and browser commands only. To edit a remote file in cmux's built-in editor, print its path in the terminal (e.g. ls /abs/path/file) and cmd-click it. The terminal link handler opens it as a remote file preview, and saving writes it back over SSH.
The other route is the Files panel. It shows dotfiles by default (the fileExplorer.showHidden default is true), but only under the current Files root. For files like ~/.config/... outside the project, you must re-root Files at the home directory, or keep the file inside the project tree (e.g. under a git-excluded .slang/ folder).
