Claude Code paste placeholders are not recoverable from the session transcript

When a user pastes a large block into Claude Code, the prompt you receive contains only a placeholder like [Pasted text #2 +144 lines], not the body. If the harness did not expand it, the content is gone from your context. Do not assume you can recover it by reading the session .jsonl under ~/.claude/projects/<project-slug>/<session-id>.jsonl -- the transcript stores the same placeholder string in message.content, and the pastedContents key you may grep for is only an echo of your own tool calls, never the paste body. The only fix is to ask the user to re-send, ideally by saving to a file and giving you the path, which is more reliable than re-pasting for large blocks.
