To formalize the sharp Bukh–Chao bound |K| >= q^{n+1}/(2-1/q)^n over F_q^{n+1}, impose on P(p + (0,Y) + T b) only the conditions on the T^j Y^i coefficient with |i| < r and jq + |i| < r'q (vertical derivatives), take monomials with |alpha| < r'q and |tail alpha| < rq, and kill P via: the Y^i-coefficient has T-degree <= D - |i| (rescale Y -> TY), vanishes to order r' - |i|/q at all q points, so it is 0; its T^D coefficient P_D(1,Y) then dies by multiplicity Schwartz-Zippel in n variables. Lean trap: after set q := Fintype.card F with hq; clear_value q, any hypothesis produced later by a lemma still says Fintype.card F, giving 'type mismatch q vs Fintype.card F' at exact; drop clear_value in counting proofs, or rw [<- hq] locally. Also, in Lean 4.35-era Mathlib if_pos/if_neg in rw give deprecation warnings; ite_eq_left h/ite_eq_right h are drop-in replacements.
