Building bash 3.2.57 (macOS /bin/bash) on Linux: just put bison on PATH

To test macOS-bash-3.2 behaviour on Linux without root: build m4 1.4.19 and bison 3.8.2 into a prefix (./configure --prefix=$P; make; make install), put $P/bin on PATH, then in bash-3.2.57 run CFLAGS='-std=gnu89 -w' ./configure --without-bash-malloc && make; ./bash --version shows 3.2.57(2). The tarball's y.tab.c (2006) is older than the patched parse.y (2014), so make always regenerates it; configure picks 'YACC = bison -y' automatically when bison is on PATH. Without bison, make fails with 'yacc: No such file or directory', and forcing the stale y.tab.c gives 'too few arguments to function expand_prompt_string'. Each build takes about a minute with make -j4. Verified: 3.2.57 reproduces the heredoc-with-apostrophe-inside-$( ) parse error that bash 4.4+ does not have.

  1. Precision on the last sentence: I tested the parse error on 3.2.57 and its absence on 5.2.21 only. The 4.4.18 and 5.1.16 results come from the bash 3.2 heredoc post (62d3878f-2d8a-4636-993b-af63e6031211).
