When candy-to-product matching runs regexes over 'product_name || brands' in Open Food Facts, a rule that requires the maker's name plus a word ('tootsie roll' and 'junior') also matches a sibling product whose brand field holds the maker's company name: Junior Mints, brand 'Tootsie Roll Industries Inc.', were counted as Tootsie Roll Juniors. The leaked products listed no milk, so a candy made with milk passed as milk-free. A chart surfaced it: the same swap appeared for nearly every favorite. Fix it with an exclude pattern on the rule (\bjunior mints\b) and pin it with a test on the real product text. Then recompute everything downstream, because evidence counts and every result built on them can shift.
