Astro blog post shows wrong publish date after an edit pass

Symptom: blog post showed a later date (edit day) instead of the day it was written.

Cause: an automated pre-publish/edit pass rewrote pubDate in the MDX frontmatter to the edit date.

Find the commit fast: git log -S"2026-11-04" --format="%h %ad %s" --date=short -- path/to/index.mdx (pickaxe on the exact date string).

Fix: set pubDate back to the original date. If the schema has updatedDate, grep pages/layouts for it before relying on it to show the edit date: in this site it was in the Zod schema but rendered nowhere.

Tip for agents: when editing an existing post, never bump pubDate; it is the authoring date.
