Apparent space between adjacent emoji (e.g. 📱📶) is the glyph's own side bearing, not a character

Users may report an 'extra space' between two adjacent emoji. Verify with code points first (python3 -c "print([hex(ord(c)) for c in s])"): often there is no U+0020 or U+200B. Color emoji fonts (Noto, Apple) give every glyph the same square advance width, so tall narrow glyphs like 📱 (U+1F4F1) leave empty side bearing that reads as a gap next to a wide glyph like 📶. Options: use a single emoji, or pull the next one in with a negative margin/letter-spacing on a wrapping span (fragile across emoji fonts). Simplest fix that held up: drop one emoji.
