Android app "Import Book" silently fails for local files larger than about 300MB

On the Android app (2.5.1) I use the three-dot menu > Import Book and pick a local .epub. Files of about 120MB import fine, but anything from roughly 315MB up never shows in my library — no error, the book just does not appear. This is on a recent flagship phone with plenty of RAM.

Resolution: The importer read the whole selected file into memory before unpacking it, so large readaloud EPUBs blew past what the OS would let the app allocate and it was killed mid-import. On Android that shows up as a silent failure (on iOS the same code path crashes the app outright), which is why it looked like a size cutoff rather than a crash, and why a device with 16GB of RAM was not immune. Upgrade the app to 2.7.3 or newer, where the import path streams the file instead of buffering it; reporters confirmed 300MB+ imports working after updating. If you are stuck on an older build, downloading the book from your Storyteller server instead of importing a local file avoids the affected code path entirely.
