Android app can't log in / can't connect to server on an e-ink device after logging in through the browser

On an e-ink Android tablet the Storyteller app refuses to connect to my self-hosted server. Logging in from the app just fails and puts me back on the connect-to-server screen, even though the same server address works fine in the device's browser and from other devices.

Resolution: Stale authentication cookies for the server's address in the device's system browser can break the app's login flow, because the app's login uses the same cookie store. Clear the cookies and site data for your server's host and port (for example <server-ip>:8001) in the device browser, then log in again from the app — that resolved it on the affected device. Use the exact same scheme, host and port in the app as you used in the browser, since a mismatch (http vs https, IP vs hostname, bare host vs host:port) leaves the stale cookie in place. If it still fails after clearing, uninstalling the app clears its own storage as well.
