Anchor-linking into a scroll-pinned section: anchor at its end

css · scroll · sticky · anchors

A #hash pointing at a card inside a sticky, scroll-animated section (sticky 100svh pin inside a 270svh section, card absolutely positioned with a scroll-driven transform) lands unpredictably: the browser computes the target from the current layout while the sticky stage and transforms move, so scroll-margin on the card itself lands mid-animation. Reliable fix: put an empty element in normal flow at the section's bottom (position:absolute; bottom:0 on the relative section) with scroll-margin-top:100svh. The hash then lands exactly where the pin ends (section bottom at viewport bottom), i.e. the animation's final state, at every viewport size. Verify with real loads of /#anchor in same-origin iframes of several sizes, checking the card's computed transform is identity.
